Construction Field Operations Manager

OMNI Construction is a full service, national commercial contractor/construction manager that is recognized within the industry for its ability to partner with our clients in order to tailor fit our construction programs to the specific requirements of each individual project. We have an immediate opening for a Construction Field Operations Manager (Site General Superintendent Safety Coordinator) to manage our Commercial Construction Superintendents. Multi-Family, Hotel, Mixed-Use, and Retail experience in Ground Up Projects as well as Renovation experience is required. Position is home based but requires travel to construction sites throughout the US.

 

Job Responsibilities

Construction Field Operations Manager duties include, but are not limited to, the ability to direct and supervise our Superintendents in the completion of projects exactly per the construction plans and specifications within the tight specified construction schedule and with the highest level of finish. Monitoring safety programs, providing or identifying safety related training and overseeing adherence to construction safety standards is required. Maintaining Job Site Consistency for all job sites is required. Responsible for ensuring timely Close-Out/Punch List completion.

Skills Required for Construction Field Operations Manager

  • Must be able to provide oversight of site records including detailed daily field reports and photographic documentation.
  • Proven ability to supervise a team of multiple site superintendents. Responsible for the schedule review following a two-week look ahead period.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a pro-active, professional approach working with Project Manager, to supervising sub-contractors and meeting or exceeding construction work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements to ensure the timely completion of project.
  • Strong proficiency in adhering to contracts and implementing cost-saving actions through an intimate knowledge of blueprints as well as confirming scopes of work or instructions for framing/drywall, ceilings, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, glazing etc. and related trades.
  • Team oversight in the monitoring and approval of construction work by conducting inspections as well as preventing fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes as well as maintaining a safe, orderly, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations, including OSHA.
  • Additionally, must be able to provide leadership in consultation, inspection methods/procedures and to advise construction team to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety regulations, practices and standards, including representing company as an external interface and liaison as required. Is responsible for safety enforcement on each job site.
  • Proficient in Quality Control processes.

 

Experience

  • Successful Construction Field Operations Manager candidate will have at least 7 years of extensive experience in commercial ground up and renovation construction as a Superintendent.
  • Must be a hands-on team player and be looking for long term growth potential with experience in Multi-Family, Hospitality and Mixed-Use builds.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Minimum three years of safety coordinator experience at a construction or engineering site, CSP certification beneficial but not required.
